Description
"Gnomes are commonly found in tall grass, with mud and loose dirt. They tend to nest in these tall grasslands where they lay flat on the ground, digging their body’s deeper into the dirt until only their red spire head and their fungal covered backs are shown. Their backs are able to blend into the tall grass, though their red spire head tends to ward off potential predators or other prey who wander too close to them. If threatened they either run away or fight, using their spiked hind legs to fend themselves. If disturbed by an unknown being, their spire heads have air sacs (which is a lighter red) which fill with air and exhale a mist of spores through the exit holes in their spires.
These fae spores will enter the hosts, who unknowingly breathe in the nearly invisible mist, and gestate for a few hours, where they will turn into fairy pupae. These pupae will quickly mature and tear their way out of the host, swarming out of the host in great numbers: becoming fairies."
